We started our year with a Special Interest Day with a difference last November. This combined a celebration of the Arts Society’s Golden Jubilee with a stunning virtual tour of New York by Mary Alexander. Nearly seventy members joined us to celebrate this memorable day. Supporting Young Arts is a very important part of the ethos of the Arts Society and we were delighted to be able to support arts projects in two local schools: Melton Primary and Farlingaye High School. We also made a rather special donation to Farlingaye in memory of our past Chair, Diana Madden. This went to the music department to add to their percussion instruments for their bigger ensembles, a donation which we and her family felt would have appealed to Diana.

Looking to the coming year, our programme secretaries have been busy putting together an exciting and wide-ranging programme with some new lecturers and topics. They range from street Art to Backstage at the Royal Ballet and from Japan to Moscow and St Petersburg. Thank you all for your support last year and we hope you will enjoy what we have on offer for the year to come.
